This way there is no encouragement to take intentional draws to keep from eliminating a member of your national team. Also, it's a bit disheartening to have to face a teammate at the beginning of a world tournament. That should be later, after the first rounds shake out.
No less than 20 players from all around the world have confirmed that they will attend the World Championship 2016. Each country will be well represented this way, and no doubt we will see some nice plays during the event.
Since the World Championship is in July, I'm pretty sure that the Restricted Lists updates will apply.
Yeah, I understand that but given the time frame and what rules they said they'd be playing with, I wanted a straightforward answer since it wasn't mentioned prior. But I assume this is true unless they tell me otherwise.
As for the length of rounds, I would guess 40 minutes as it is the standard for tournaments. During last year's Worlds, however, there was no time limit during the second phase of the tournamenrt (the "double elimination bracket" part).
The tournament is going to be just one day, correct?
Thanks!
