My bad, then. It's a decision that must be taken by the head judge, so I will forward this to him and see what he thinks of it. (No promises)

The swiss grouping was set up like this last year

Group A
Dacow: Germany
Ysu: Belgium- France
Dannymellou: Spain
Stroppo: Italian
FryGuy: American

Group B
Nicoolivera: Germany
Vonrah: Italian
Wescade: France
Doran-44: Spanish
XenoGearX: American

Group C
Daisuke: Spanish
Biervampir: Germany
Adfreas: Italian
Mia: American
Jejam: France

Group D
Jay: American
Vlad-Taltos: Spanish
Wendigo: France
Peeter883: Italian
Chris87x: Germany

This way there is no encouragement to take intentional draws to keep from eliminating a member of your national team. Also, it's a bit disheartening to have to face a teammate at the beginning of a world tournament. That should be later, after the first rounds shake out.

I have a good news to share with you:

No less than 20 players from all around the world have confirmed that they will attend the World Championship 2016. Each country will be well represented this way, and no doubt we will see some nice plays during the event. laugh
We've made a small rule update to the announcement: the championship will use the entire comprehensive rules version 2.4. So in addition to the GG costing 12 kamas, it will be possible for players to reroll their Tension roll by forfeiting one die.

Additionally, will the changes of Theo, Poochan, and Yugo-Young King be effective at the World Championship? I'm assuming yes but need to ask.

That’s it for this update. These changes will be applied to tournaments starting June 1st. The next revision of this kind should be published around mid-September.
(From the 'Update to restriction lists' thread)
Since the World Championship is in July, I'm pretty sure that the Restricted Lists updates will apply.

I have one more question. How much time in the round will it be for the swiss part of worlds? I assume the K.O. rounds will be untimed.

I think they'll be 40 minutes as far as the tournament rules say.

Yeah, I understand that but given the time frame and what rules they said they'd be playing with, I wanted a straightforward answer since it wasn't mentioned prior. But I assume this is true unless they tell me otherwise.

Yes, the new Boss list will be applied during World Championship.

As for the length of rounds, I would guess 40 minutes as it is the standard for tournaments. During last year's Worlds, however, there was no time limit during the second phase of the tournamenrt (the "double elimination bracket" part).
I've just received confirmation that players will be able to change teams between the Swiss round "pools" and the double-elimination tournament. smile

The tournament is going to be just one day, correct?
Thanks!
